A.M. Cassandre Type
For this project, I was tasked with creating two biography covers for an influential designer. The project's goals included creating a sense of connection to the artist and his style, while also being visually appealing. The project constraints included a size limit of 7”x9”, an established title, selecting a quote from the designer under 25 words, designing both an image- and type-dominant cover, and providing research on the designer, A.M. Cassandre.
Grimms Fairytales
For this project, I redesigned the classic collection of the original Grimm's fairytale book jacket, table of contents, two chapters, and the author and copyright sections at the beginning. I focused on creating a leather texture and incorporating the new illustrations into the book jacket, page borders, and chapter art. I focused on increasing visual unity between the elements and conveying the feeling of a classic fairytale collection from long ago. Lastly, I typeset the text within all the sections and created a visual hierarchy between the characters speaking and the story's narration. I made the graphic elements using Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. I used InDesign to format the text and design the layouts of this project's parts.
