A.M. Cassandre Type
For this project, I was asked to create two biography covers for an influential designer. The goals of the project included creating a sense of connection to who the artist was and his style while also being visually appealing. The constraints of the project included the size being limited to 7”x9”, having an established title, selecting a quote from the designer under 25 words, designing both an image and a type dominant cover, and providing research on the designer, A.M. Cassandre.
Grimms Fairytales
For this project, I redesigned the classic collection of the original Grimm's fairytale book jacket, table of contents, two chapters, and its beginning author and copyright sections. I focused on creating a leather texture and incorporating the new illustrations into the book jacket, page bordering, and chapter art. I focused on increasing visual unity between the elements and conveying the feeling of a classic fairytale collection from long ago. Lastly, I typeset the text within all the sections and created a visual hierarchy between the characters speaking and the story's narration. I made the graphic elements using Photoshop, Illustrator, and Indesign. I used InDesign to format the text and design the layouts of this project's parts.
